THE BLUE CRAB RESORT in Belize is a small and very private hotel. Accommodations include two thatch roof cabañas and four air conditioned rooms nestled in the palms, all located on the beach. We offer a modest, low density setting in a natural jungle environment, with emphasis on preserving wildlife habitat. The property is a beautiful five acre spread from sea to lagoon, and we can rightfully boast a precious well preserved and protected natural mangrove habitat that is home and shelter to many species of wildlife and fish.

Two of the Air conditioned rooms have queen beds, and all four Air conditioned rooms have small fridge. They have hardwood floors and are trimmed in local mohogany. Private bath with hot water and tub as well as shower & personal coffee/tea makers. The ac rooms are 80 feet from the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by seagrape and palm trees.

THE CABANAS
One cabana has one double bed and one single bed, the other has two double beds. Both cabanas have private bath with hot and cold water, two fans in each cabana, thatch roofs, hardwood floors, private porches with a sea view, screened windows and they are located within 50 feet of the Caribbean Sea.

The restaurant is located on the sea and has a spectacular view, full breakfast and full bar available. We are not open for lunch and dinner this season, however it is no longer difficult to find a gourmet meal on the peninsula. There are many very good local and international restaurants now in the area. Chef Linn closed the restaurant for lunch and dinner due to maternity leave with most of the kitchen staff this season, and cooked breakfast instead. We sincerely hope to reopen our restaurant for lunch and dinner next season..

Our new venture, a chocolate factory, has begun production of Belizean chocolate. Our brand name is Goss Chocolate, 100% natural & the cacao is organically grown in Belize. Placencia now has three banks and ATM services. You can cash checks and get cash advances on your VISA or Mastercard. Most of the tour operators, restaurants and hotels take credit cards or travelers checks. US cash is accepted as readily as Belizean cash. The Blue Crab accepts VISA, Mastercard, travelers checks, US cash and Belizean cash.
